Have you ever wondered what it takes to create a logo? Well, you’re in luck.
We had a wonderful time designing our latest custom logo and we are excited to share our design process with you! First, let’s read a little about our client, Christina Williams Photography.
Christina Williams Photography specializes in taking photographs of babies and children, engagements, families, and she recently branched into boudoir photography. Her business is fun and family oriented, but has a romantic side for couples.
Photography has always been Christina’s passion and her mission is provide clients with photos that express the happiness and joy they’re feeling in a given moment. Capturing precious moments in time is what Christina Williams Photography is all about.
Goal of project
Previously called Live in the Moment Photography, she renamed her business and needed a new logo to match. In response, we gave her a list of questions to get a clear picture of her brand and design style. We found she was looking for:
- A more feminine, modern logo — yet still be classy and elegant
- A creative design that would stand out and encourage people to use her services
- Any photography related imagery
- Include watercolor and black & white with an accent color
- She liked cursive writing and flowers
Now it was time for us to go to work and create design concepts based on what she told us. We had a lot of fun coming up with creative ways to portray her brand and passion for photography. Here are a few of the concepts we sent to Christina:
We received great feedback: “Wow! Beautiful job” and after narrowing it down she selected #6. And after a few minor revisions, we had our logo.
We used this particular shade of purple to make the design fresh and modern with a splash of color. We opted for a soft, watery style to give a dreamy, feminine style. We selected to use a combination of a cursive and sans serif font. Our main font choice went well as it was big and bold, yet still soft. In the end, it all works together to create a logo design that is modern, classy, eye-catching, and the epitome of femininity. All of which was what the client wanted.
Review by Christina: “Amazing job! Works fast and provided several options.”
We truly enjoyed this project – our first photography logo – and it was great working with Christina, to help her vision come true! Want to see the logo? Visit her website at http://www.christinawphotography.com/.
